Welcome
The Putah Creek Monitoring Group was founded in 2026 as a collaboration between Winters High School and UC Berkeley's Strawberry Creek Monitoring Group. Our mission is to monitor, study, and protect Putah Creek's unique ecosystem. Through sensor networks, hands-on environmental research, anomaly detection models, and community outreach, we collect and share data that helps raise awareness, inform conservation efforts, and inspire enviromental stewardship.
Our Works
Off Grid Sensor Deployment
We develop low-cost, off-grid environmental monitoring solutions using open-source hardware and software. We deployed the first publicly accessible temperature and electrical conductivity sensors in Putah Creek. These sensor stations are modular and can easily be expanded to include additional parameters such as dissolved oxygen, pH, and turbidity.
Data Collection and Hosting
In addition to data from our own sensors, we aggregate data from the USGS and the Solano Water Agency into a unified monitoring platform. We have developed a public dashboard that allows users to explore historical sensor data across custom date ranges and download the datasets as CSV files.

Build with Our Creek Data API
Want to create tools using real-time creek data or host your own sensor data on our site? We offer free API access to our platform.
Query by sensor site, date range, and variable — and build on top of our work however you’d like!
For developers, students, researchers, and community scientists.
